Daniel Roberts and Jay Suen, attorneys yet unknown to each other at the time, were walking their border collie puppies in the same park of Oakland hills one morning in 2016.  In a delightful twist of fate, the dogs, knowingly gravitated towards one another.   A single glance at Jay’s dog “Go”, stopped Daniel in his tracks.  “Tell me about your dog!” 

The resemblance between “Go” and Daniel’s dog “Indiana” was uncanny. The dogs turned out to be siblings--from the same litter, bought from the same person from the same Craigslist ad.   Whether by coincidence or fate, that first meeting in the park set in motion something remarkable.

Jay and Daniel became a family via a reunification of their dogs. Months later, Jay invited Daniel to interview for an associate role at the Youngman Firm, where he was hired. The two worked well together, and maintained contact despite eventually departing to different firms.  Years later, they decided to launch Roberts Suen LLP.   Together they recruited Walt Youngman, their former boss, to join as a Partner as well.   Youngman Roberts Suen LLP was born......via the instincts of dogs!
